Movember 2019
The Movember Foundation began in 2003 by Travis Garone and Luke Slattery in Melbourne, https://us.movember.com/about/history
An idea to bring back the fashion of mustache evolved into a movement to raise awareness around men’s health, prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention in men.
From its start as a two-man operation, the nonprofit has grown into a global movement. What started as a movement of 30 Mo Brothers in 2003 who took the challenge, has gone viral and inspired support from millions of Mo Bros and Mo Sisters around the world. The movement though by far has been rewarding but, it also comes with its own challenges. Setting a trend is one thing, but to keep the enthusiasm and interest of people going and growing is another.
Growing moustache may have been the trend the movement began with, but, with time, it is important to remember the cause behind it and do whatever it takes to keep the men in our lives safe and healthy. The future of healthcare, everyday issues lies in constant research and meeting the health goals for a safe and brighter future. You may think your effort is too small for making any impact, but remember, every drop counts in an ocean.
Razor brand Billie has launched its latest campaign for Movember, celebrating the fact that “women have moustaches too”, https://us.movember.com/team/2349411
